It has been a great start to 2022 for the Sasfin Asset Managers team. Key milestones reached thus far include:

  • The Sasfin BCI Flexible Income Fund won a prestigious Raging Bull Award for the Best South African Multi-Asset Income Fund on a risk -adjusted basis for 2021, announced at the awards event held on 01 February 2022. This makes it 4 in a row for this fund, with wins in 2018, 2019 and 2020 as well.
  • The Sasfin BCI Stable Fund is one of the two nominees in the Best Cautious Allocation Fund category at the Morningstar Fund Awards. Morningstar will announce the winners on 22 March 2022.
  • Sasfin Asset Managers has achieved the R20bn mark in Assets Under Management (AUM).

Sasfin delights itself in being a fiercely competitive team internally as they seek to achieve the very best. Interestingly, Sasfin Asset Managers would like to argue that its trajectory has been the most impressive in the last three years. The Asset Management business started small, with a good track record in a handful of funds, but after careful selection and immigration of the finest names in the industry, they have been building out a broader product offering within their funds, and especially in the income solutions, and performance has escalated, assets under management have soared and awards have been won, year upon year.

In this video, Erol Zeki, Sasfin Wealth CEO, chats to Arno Lawrenz, Sasfin Asset Managers CIO, about these recent achievements, the investment philosophy and what the future holds.
