We all need a bit more joy in our lives right now and what better way to add some than by spending time dancing and raising money for the less fortunate?

On 16 July, Sasfin employees and their families celebrated Mandela Day by contributing 67 minutes of their time to join a Lockdown Getdown with a live DJ, and united through our screens for the common good. We boogied, worked up a sweat, worked off some calories and beat the lockdown blues for an hour in the evening, as we all contributed in our own small way.

Why 67 minutes? Each minute commemorates one year that Mandela was in public service, giving of himself to better our country. And this was one small way we could honour his legacy, doing our bit to uplift those who really need our support.

Those who could afford to donated R67 per family, with the grand total of the proceeds reaching R9474.66. This collective effort will be matched by Sasfin, and the proceeds will go to one of our flagship charities.

Thanks to all who showed off their hidden talents and killer moves, as we thought beyond our needs and helped our wider community – all with big smiles on our faces.
