Sasfin has exited its banking business. This was first announced in October 2024 followed by a series of updates outlining the closure process and its implications for account holders.
All clients were notified in the second half of 2025 that their deposits had been terminated. Clients who did not withdraw their funds were transferred to an unclaimed account, on which no interest is payable. A monthly administration fee of R250 is charged for the maintenance of these accounts.
Following engagement with the Prudential Authority regarding the relinquishment of Sasfin's banking licence, all remaining funds were required to be transferred.
